Using the ancient iconographic system of the Tarot and drawing on elements of Jungian philosophy, Nina's current works are archetypal mythological narratives. The model used for the character within each "card" is someone Nina knows personally. As she gets to know each person, she discovers certain characteristics or personality traits that trigger connections to the universal archetypes embodied in the Major Arcana of the Tarot. In the process of discovery and development of each card, Nina incorporates personal as well as universal symbology and iconography to create images that have multiple layers of meaning.
