Figurative Painting and Drawing
All people, no matter their culture or language, can relate in some fundamental way to the depiction of the human form. The ability to successfully portray the human figure grants the painter a universal language with which to communicate ideas, emotions, and timeless narratives across all boundaries. Drawing and painting regularly from live models is critical to an artist's skill and ability, much as musical practice is critical to a musician's mastery of his or her instrument. Skill allows talent to express ideas.
