Nina Stanley - Painter

Classically trained in the figurative tradition, Nina has been creating images ever since she could hold a crayon. Currently concentrating on a series of paintings based on the Tarot, Nina works from life whenever possible. She believes strongly that drawing and painting regularly from live models is critical to an artist's skill and ability, much as musical practice is critical to a musician's mastery of his or her instrument. Skill allows talent to express ideas.

As Professor Don Lagerberg always says: "Draw, floss and exercise every day."

Nina is also the Secretary for the Upstate Artists Guild and manages the Workshop Committee, providing workshops and classes to artists of all proficiencies.
